Literature
Cora J. Gordon, 'The Carvings of Alan Durst', The Studio, January 1950, vol.139, no. 682, pp.10-13, illustrated p.10.
Condition
A small repair appears to have taken place to one of the hind feet and possibly to a small 'flap' on the left side of the bull's stomach. The various cracks (and tiny 'pocks' on the right shoulder) are all entirely characteristic of the medium and do not compromise the stability of the piece in any way. Overall the piece is in lovely original condition, the patina clean and lustrous and ready for display.
