Description
- Sandra Blow
- Painting
- oil and mixed media on board
- 122 by 137cm., 48 by 54in.
Provenance
Gimpel Fils Gallery, London, whence purchased by the present owner, 24 April 1984
Condition
The board appears to be in excellent original condition, sound and stable throughout.
The highly textured surface also appears to be in lovely original condition throughout. As visible in the catalogue illustration, there is a patch in the lower left hand corner (measuring 6 by 3.25 in. max) which appears to have been caused by some sort of oil seapage. The back of the board is not marked in the same way, and it is possible that this mark occurred in the artist's studio.
Presented unglazed in a pale wood baton frame in good condition.
Please note that the brown 'gritty' areas are less pink in the original than they appear in the catalogue illustration, and the impressively worked surface of the whole is somewhat lost in the photograph.
