Condition

Original canvas. There is an L-shaped retouching in the upper right sky corresponding to a repair in the canvas, some further old retouchings within the sky and a few further scattered flecks elsewhere. There is a small tear in the canvas towards the lower left corner (visible in the catalogue illustration), some small spots of scattered paint loss to the edges of the work and some faint craquelure. The varnish layer has discoloured over time. Held in a plaster moulded gilt frame.
