Condition
Original canvas. There is an area of retouching in the upper right corner corresponding to two patched repairs on the reverse of the canvas, an area in the lower right corner also corresponding to a patched repair and a horizontal line of retouching towards the upper left corner corresponding to a repair. There are some signs of craquelure, notably around the teacher and the roof area and there is a small square of discolouration to the door (visible in the catalogue illustration). Held in a plaster moulded gilt frame.
