Condition
Under The Pergola: the correct technique is oil on paper.
From a first hand inspection there is a superficial loss of oil-film lower left-hand side. There is a tear (cm 1 circa) in the top left-hand corner (also visible form the reproduction in the catalogue) and some small holes: one on the parapet on the left; one on the left of the capital; a small one in the sky on the left-hand side (also visible form the reproduction in the catalogue).
The ultra violet light reveals no restoration nor retouch.
It is suggested a consolidation of the support.
Nilo's bank at The Cairo: the correct technique is oil on paper on cardboard.
From a first hand inspection there is a loss of painting in the middle, along the right-hand edge and opposite side on the left-hand one, probably due to pushpins.
The ultra violet light reveals yellowish fluorescent varnish spread homogeneously over the surface. There are no restoration nor retouches.
The overall condition as to the state of conservation is good.
