Joseph-Émmanuel Zwiener fl. circa 1875-1900 Coiffeuse Paris, circa 1890

Although apparently unsigned, the present model bears strong similarities in design to another Zwiener dressing table which is part of an important and rare suite de chambre à coucher, circa 1889, sold in these rooms, October 26, 2006, lot 138.  It is interesting to note the gilt bronze mount centering the top of the swiveling mirror plate is of exact design to the dressing table referenced above and integrating the distinctive Léon Messagé signature cast 'wing'.
