Catalogue Note

Campbell first visited Spain in 1951 and was immediately inspired by the Spanish landscapes, cityscapes and local people that he met. His output of Spanish images range from the hillside landscapes around Ronda captured in the present work to his figurative subjects of musicians, gypsies and picadors. Campbell was made a Knight Commander of Spain in 1977.
