  • Two autograph manuscripts signed:
1)  Souvenir du bal bleu Mazurka for piano, in black ink, on six systems per page, each of two staves, some additions in pencil, some revised passages on additional sheets stapled over, decorated with stars in black ink, outer wrapper in the hand of Henri Sauguet, 5 pages, 35.5x27cms, no place or date, a little light staining



2)  “Lumière dans la nuit”, a song for voice and piano, poem by Francis Jammes (“Depuis un si longtemps qu’il pleut”), written in black ink on five systems per page, each of three staves, gold borders with vignettes, 2 pages, 35x27cms., edges a little frayed, Paris 28 April 1923

Catalogue Note

From the collection of the composer Henri Sauguet. Desormière (1898-1963), the conductor and composer, was a pupil of Koechlin and an associate of Sauguet, the school of Auteuil and Les Six.
