  • A rare 'Elephant' chair
  • 75cm. high by 65cm. wide;
  • 2ft. 5 1/2 in., 2ft. 1 1/2 in.
ebonised walnut, with incised decoration, the sloping open arms above a semi-circular seat and faceted legs joined by stretchers

Catalogue Note

A conforming example sold Christie's South Kensington, 19th October 2004, lot 221, where it was noted only three chairs and one table are known to exist from this suite. It seems the present lot is a previously unrecorded example. It is likely it was produced by the Art Furnisher's Alliance.
