the curved double-edged watered-steel blade with medial rivet and swollen tip, the forte chiselled on either side with a flowering plant, the hilt of pale green mottled stone, carved with a flowering iris and poppy plants, with scroll quillons and rounded pommel with carved poppy leaf detail, flowerheads and quillons gem-set, the later leather covered wood scabbard with silver openwork mounts carved with bands of floral and foliate motifs
