the curved single-edged watered-steel blade, with a carved pale green hilt of typical talwar form with disc pommel, broad crossguard and elongated forte

Catalogue Note

It is very rare to find a jade hilt in this form.  One example from a Danish private collection is published in Copenhagen 1982, no.154, pp.190-19, and another was sold through these rooms 18 October 2004, lot 158.
