the bowl painted in underglaze blue with roundels of cranes and deer, rim border of fruit sprays and beribboned emblems, the interior with a roundel of a deer in a landscape, the silver mounts in Elizabethan style with caryatid straps decorated with lion masks and swags, ovolo and leaf-tip borders, strapwork-decorated foot showing traces of gilding, the bowl marked wan fu you tong (may infinite happiness gather) in a double ring, the silver mounts with maker's mark, lion passant and leopard's head
