- Sanka Hakuu (sudden shower below the mountain) from the series Fugaku Sanjurokkei (Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji)

depicting the cone of Fuji, freaked with snow at the peak, rising clear into the blue sky above the storm, and the lightning forking across the darkness of the lower slopes, no censorship seal or publisher's mark, signed Hokusai aratame Iitsu hitsu
This print, the `Great Wave' (Kanagawa oki no nami-ura) and the `Red Fuji' (Gaifu kaisei) are considered to be the masterpieces from this series, the latter ranking for many as the greatest of all colour-print landscapes executed in the East or the West. The series was published by Nishimuraya Yohachi in Edo circa 1830-1834.
