Catalogue Note
The sitter was the sister of John, 1st Earl of Buckinghamshire. She married, on 2nd March 1705, Charles, 9th Earl of Suffolk. He died in 1733 and she married secondly, on 26th June 1735, the Hon. George Berkeley. The present picture derives from the full length portrait of the sitter at Blickling Hall, Norfolk.
