Catalogue Note

Provenance: ex lot 95 part, the Nureyev sale, Christies New York, Janaury 12th, 1995, and still bearing original lot tags.

The red leather shoes were probably worn in his own production which he mounted in 1972, designed by Nicholas Georgiadis. The boots were probably worn by Nureyev at the Royal Ballet, London, October 1963 and possibly for productions of Petrushka with the Ballet Theatre de Nancy between 1982 and 1984.
