  • height 34cm. (12in.); length 19.7cm. (7 3/4in.)
rectangular two train movement within a rectangular base visible beneath glazed faceted panels, surmounted by balustrade gallery, the corner fitted with urn finials, the front and back gallery spaced with hinged doors, case further fit with moving gilt-metal figures of Adam and Eve each holding an apple and standing before three apple trees, the center tree wrapped with the serpent, the tree further mounted with two gilt-metal ball-form globes, the lower for the hours, the time indicated by the tip of the serpents tail, the smaller upper matching globe for minutes, the left tree mounted with a gilt-metal globe indicating the date, the right tree mounted with a globe indicated the day of the week, a small post in the foreground mounted with a ball indicating day and night, now detached.

Catalogue Note

This clock appears to be a fanciful recreation of similar 'Adam and Eve' clocks dating from the 17th century.
