  • Two Byzantine Antiquities
  • Heights 1 3/16 and 5 5 11/16 in. 3 and 14.5 cm.
comprising a gilt bronze coin weight engraved on one side with the bust of an empress flanked by crosses and wearing long double-pendant earrings and high diadem, the letters kappa and nu in the field, and a limestone votive plaque finely incised with a cross terminating in dotted circles on the arms, an aediculum above, two oblong recesses on each side, and with remains of red and black pigment.
