Louis Vuitton Backpacks
Louis Vuitton has been making backpacks since 1994 with its classic Montsouris. Due to the popularity of this style, Louis Vuitton has released several recurring and limited edition backpacks for women and men. Luxury brands like Louis Vuitton have reinterpreted the classic school bag but maintained it's functionality. Sotheby's Buy Now Marketplace always has a selection of Louis Vuitton Backpacks available for immediate shipping.
Montsouris Backpack
Louis Vuitton first released the Montsouris backpack in 1994. It updated the the design in 2017 and then released it in Monogram Empreinte embossed leather in 2020. The original Montsouris backpack had a vachetta leather base that was removed from the updated design in 2017. The original Louis Vuitton backpack was named after Parc Montsouris, one of the largest parks in Paris. The bag has a large main compartment with a drawstring and a flap with buckle. The original Montsouris backpack came in three sizes, PM, MM and GM while the newer version only comes in one size similar to the MM. The Montsouris is the most classic Louis Vuitton backpack and perfect for daily commuting.
Palm Springs Backpack
Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Backpack was first released in 2016 and instantly became hits with buyers and remains one of the most popular LV backpacks. The Louis Vuitton Palm Springs comes in three sizes, Mini, PM and MM. The mini LV backpack is the most popular and remains the size used for limited edition patterns like the League of Legends. Given the size and removable straps this LV backpack can also be carried like a shoulder bag or even a crossbody or sling style.
Discovery Backpack
Kim Jones became the men's creative director of Louis Vuitton in 2011. During his seven year tenure, he is widely thought to have reinvented Louis Vuitton's men's business. He collaborated with Supreme, Fragment and and the Chapman Brothers on wildly popular limited edition collections. The Louis Vuitton x Supreme collaboration led to lines around the world and the entire collection selling out in a single day. After Jones' departure early in 2018, Louis Vuitton appointed Virgil Abloh as the new men's creative director. Louis Vuitton backpacks for men also increased in both the models and also popularity. The Louis Vuitton Discovery backpack was first released when Jones was at the helm of Louis Vuitton but Virgil would also reinterpret it for limited edition versions.
Christopher Backpack
The Louis Vuitton Christopher backpack is also a model first made popular by Jones but then reinterpreted by Abloh. The Prism collection from Abloh's debut Spring/Summer 2019 collection for Louis Vuitton is a highly sought after limited edition Louis Vuitton backpack. Due to Abloh's short tenure due to his passing in November 2021 after a two year battle with cancer the limited edition Louis Vuitton items he designed are highly collectible.
