Biography
Ms. Wendy Lin is the Chairman of Sotheby’s Asia, responsible for driving Sotheby’s expansion across the region and Sotheby’s businesses worldwide.
Wendy has more than 20 years of senior management experience in luxury and art. Having first joined Sotheby’s in 1997 to grow the business across Asia, Wendy returned to the company in 2013 to become the Managing Director of Sotheby’s Taiwan and subsequently, Deputy Chairman of Asia in 2018. In January 2023, she was promoted to the Chairman of Sotheby’s Asia, a senior leadership position for the region. Prior to rejoining Sotheby’s, Wendy held regional leadership roles including a position at French luxury powerhouse Chanel, growing their fine jewellery and watches business in Taiwan.
Over the past decade, under Wendy’s leadership, Asia has become a key player for Sotheby’s global business. Wendy has played a key role in numerous record-breaking sales and cementing Sotheby’s market-leading position in Asia. Her achievement also reaches far beyond the regional scene to encompass an active role at Sotheby’s global sales.
Wendy holds an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, a Graduate Gemologist degree from GIA, and a BS from University of California at Berkeley.
