Biography

Meaghan Steele is the Vice President, Director of Luxury Business Operations, Americas at Sotheby’s and oversees all sale-related diligence and operations for the Luxury Division in the Americas as part of the Global Luxury business’s transformation across its sales channels. Partnering with colleagues across the organization, she ensures the success of travelling exhibitions and site-specific sales across the country, with recent such examples as MODA Miami, the Napa Valley Vintners, and MGM Resorts x Sotheby’s. She is responsible for the execution of the Luxury Division’s sale series in the Americas including The Luxury Sales, which take place quarterly; Book Week; and Geek Week; among others.

During her time at Sotheby’s, Meaghan has worked on such notable sales including Codex Sassoon: The Earliest Most Complete Hebrew Bible (2023); Making our Nation: Constitutions and Related Documents Sold to Benefit the Dorothy Tapper Goldman Foundation (2021); Creating a Stage: The Collection of Marsha and Robin Williams (2018); Lady Blue Eyes: Property of Barbara and Frank Sinatra (2018); and The Henry Graves Jr. Supercomplication (2014).

Further, Meaghan became an Auctioneer for the firm in 2022, selling on behalf of both the Luxury and Global Fine Arts Divisions, and has helped establish new auction records for artists such as Frida Kahlo. Meaghan’s passion for auctioneering extends beyond the walls of Sotheby’s as she donates her time as a charity auctioneer, helping raise funds for numerous non-profits and organizations across the country.

Meaghan received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History with Honors and Spanish from Wake Forest University.
