Lucy Bishop joined Sotheby's in January 2024 and brings with her from London fifteen years of experience at the forefront of the auction world's fashion niche. An experienced auctioneer, Lucy is highly specialized in the research and attribution of haute couture & historically important fashion throughout the centuries. She regularly assists museums and collectors within this field and conducts valuations for collections internationally. Throughout her career she has handled the sale of items from notable wardrobes including Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Ramasindrazana of Madagascar. Lucy's expertise extends to 20th century collectable works by designers such as Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood and John Galliano, as well as luxury buy-to-wear fashion and the contemporary collectors’ market for fine Hermès and Chanel handbags.
