Chloe works closely with all senior specialists in Old Master Paintings, Drawings, British Watercolours and Works on Paper, Old Master and 19th century Sculpture, 19th century European Paintings and Victorian Paintings and Antiquities to drive Sotheby’s private sales transactions. She actively works with collectors, institutions, and dealers in buying and selling works of art internationally.
Chloe joined the London Old Masters department in late 2009 after obtaining a degree in the History of Art from Birmingham University. She later completed her Masters degree at Birkbeck, University of London, with a thesis focused on the patronage and collection of Italian art in 17th century England. As an Old Master Specialist and a Director of the department, where she worked for 11 years, she travelled extensively around the UK and Europe to source paintings and has forged strong relationships with many of the major collectors, scholars and dealers. She also co-curated an exhibition of paintings that included works by Rubens and Cranach with the fashion designer Victoria Beckham, and was the auction house’s first female Old Master specialist to conduct sales in that category. Chloe worked as Senior Global Director for a notable London Old Master dealership between 2020 and 2023 before returning to Sotheby’s to head up Global Private Sales across the Old Master division.
