Biography
Benoît joined Sotheby's in 2014. Before becoming Head of the Watches Department in Geneva, he spent six years in London as Head of Sale before moving to the Paris office, as International Specialist for five years.
Throughout his career, both as a specialist and as an auctioneer, Benoît has been directly involved in many important successes and record prices on the international market, such as the rediscovery of the Cartier Cheich or the unique Millennium co-signed by G. Daniels and R. Smith.
As a specialist, he has developed an in-depth expertise, especially in Patek Philippe, Rolex and Cartier wristwatches.
Originally from Belgium, Benoît is member of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and holds a dual master’s degrees in history of art and art market from the University of Brussels and the École du Louvre in Paris.
