Azzurra Alliata di Montereale currently serves as Vice President, Business Development, in San Francisco. In this role she acts as a trusted advisor to seasoned and new collectors and negotiates private sales, auction sales, and appraisals for buyers and sellers of art, objects and luxury items.

Prior to joining Sotheby’s in January 2021, Ms Alliata di Montereale worked for 10 years in international commercial galleries, most recently as Associate Director at Sprueth Magers in Los Angeles, where she initiated and established strategies to introduce new regional clients to the program and worked with exhibiting artists including the late John Baldessari, Eric Fischl, Barbara Kruger, and Sterling Ruby.

From 2014 to 2019 she worked with Gagosian in Los Angeles and San Francisco. As Gagosian’s Gallery Manager, she focused on both primary and secondary market sales and has worked closely with Frank Gehry, the Chris Burden Estate, Thomas Houseago and William Eggleston.

Ms Alliata di Montereale received her BA in Art History from Pepperdine University, Malibu. She is proficient in Italian. She is a patron of the Hammer Museum and Berlin Program for Artists.
