The collection was assembled by Dr. Hein Besselaar, who began collecting wines in his 20s. It reflects Dr. Besselaar's lifelong passion for fine wine and his aim to amass a collection worthy of sharing with family and friends. Amassed over the better part of a century, this collection is centered around Bordeaux in original wooden cases, many purchased as futures and left undisturbed for decades. There is notable depth in the great vintages of the 1980s and 1990s, with verticals from First Growths and Super Seconds as well as the Right Bank legend, Cheval Blanc. Beyond Bordeaux, you will find rarities from Burgundy and the Rhône, including aged gems from the legendary Henri Jayer along with Domaine Roumier, Armand Rousseau, Jean Louis Chave and more. Dr. Besselaar believed that fine wines could help create long-lasting memories. Each bottle herein is a testament to the enduring legacy of one man's vision to create unforgettable moments shared among loved ones.

Prestige cuvées comprise the core of this consignment with immense verticals from Dom Pérignon, Dom Ruinart, Krug and Cristal dating back to the 1960s and giving way to Taittinger, Veuve Clicquot, Philipponnat and Pierre Péters.

Champagne & Burgundy from a Generous Collector

Masseto spans vintages 1999 - 2014 and appears in bottles, magnums and double magnums, giving way to fellow Tuscan great, Ornellaia, including rare double magnums from the Vendemmia d’Artista Series. Piedmont legends Conterno, Giacosa, Gaja and Voerzio follow, appearing in original wooden cases and mixed formats.
