Bulgari: a Taste of the Italian Sweet Life

Diamond convertible necklace
Fruit of the imagination of the most creative jewelers, transformable pieces have often been reserved for fine jewellery. Combining technical and aesthetic prowess, these enigmatic pieces of jewellery hide complex mechanisms that have allowed women from the 19th century to the present day to convert their jewelry as they so choose. These creations can be worn in a variety of ways as illustrated by the necklace/brooch lot 41 of our November sale, where the brooch can be worn during the day before being transformed into a necklace for the evening.

Patek Philippe
MONTRE BRACELET DE DAME OR ET DIAMANTS | LADY'S GOLD AND DIAMOND BRACELET
Estimate: 3,500 – 5,500 EUR
Patek Philippe | Lady's gold and diamond wristwatch
Elegant and refined, this stunning gold and diamond-set Patek Philippe can be worn during the day with a casual outfit as well as in the evening, given its highly ornamental textured gold bracelet and diamond-decorated dial. This watch is a perfect example of the popularity of the 'cocktail' watches from 1950 to 1970, with intricately worked bracelets and dials adorned with precious stones. This model is equipped with an excellent manual winding mechanical movement, which will delight watchmaking enthusiasts.
Diamond convertible tiara
The diadem or tiara has its origins in the ancient Greek and Roman tradition of adorning heads with flowers and foliage during celebrations. When placed in the hands of jewelers, these natural wreaths were transformed into headpieces of gold set with precious stones. Considered a must-have for lavish events; it was a sumptuous diadem that adorned Josephine's hair during the coronation of her husband Napoleon on the 2nd of December in 1804. The one offered in our sale has five star motifs, just like the one worn by “Sissi” - Elizabeth of Austria - and it will give anyone who wears it a regal air.
David Webb | Enamel, emerald and diamond brooch
The snake motif has been used in jewelry design since antiquity - in ethnic jewellery as well as in more classical pieces. It is a theme that was also fashionable in sentimental jewelry of the nineteenth century. The undulating pattern of this reptile has long been an infinite source of inspiration for jewelers. For this brooch, David Webb portrays a snake, enameled with emerald-set eyes, inspired by the theme of the snake biting its tail, ancient symbol of eternity.
The Colour Yellow and Gemstones

This month, our sale gives top billing to yellow gemstones. Yellow diamonds, sapphires, citrines... there are stones to suit everyone! In lithotherapy, the color yellow is associated with the solar plexus, with willpower, self-confidence and the expression of feelings. Our selection will brighten up your day and bring you joy and comfort before winter arrives!

Watches by Cartier

The great fame of the Maison Cartier does not end with Jewellery; Cartier has been an important member of the Watchmaking industry since the beginning of the 20th century. In 1904, Cartier designed one of the first modern wristwatches for the famous Brazilian aviator, Alberto Santos Dumont – a watch that bears his name. In 1917, the Tank watch was born and the very first one was offered as a gift to General Pershing. That watch was followed by others: the Tortue, Baignoire, Pasha, etc.. all of these watches that are still very popular today and which you can find in our selection.

Artists Jewels

Owning jewellery made by an artist means having a miniature work of art to wear on your finger or around your neck. In 1949, Georges Braque introduced the theme of the bird into his work after having observed at length the flight of pink flamingos and having made it a recurring subject. In 1967, two years after casting his own thumb, César made a mold of the breast of one of the dancers from the Crazy Horse cabaret and turned it into a sculpture as well. Transformed into a brooch and a pendant, you will find these two works in our sale along with other works by Gio Pomodoro, Jean Després or Claude Lalanne.
