Forms of Intimacy includes more than 20 photographs from incredible queer artists such as Steven Klein, Willy Vanderperre, Laurence Philomène, Emmie America and Cherry Au Hon I.
Over the past decade a new generation of young and emerging photographers has emerged seeking to reconceptualize sexuality, representation, and self-expression. Many of these artists follow in the footsteps of pioneering photographers and artists who created and defined the very genre of queer photography. Forms of Intimacy seeks to celebrate disparate LGBTQIA+ photographic points of view. Taken as a whole, this selection of photography and artistic voices bring visibility and esteem to queer people across the spectrum of sexuality and gender, through brave, vulnerable, and, above all, intimate gestures.100% of the auction proceeds benefit Camp Felix Pride, a groundbreaking new summer camp for LGBTQIA+ youth in the New York City foster care system.
Auction items will be on view at the Sotheby’s New York beginning June 21, 2022.
