S
otheby’s is honored to host this benefit auction on behalf of the Norton Museum of Art in conjunction with the Norton’s 2025 Gala, honoring Rashid Johnson.
The Norton Museum of Art’s 2025 Gala Auction includes more than 40 exceptional works from pre-eminent artists and the world's leading galleries. Lots include paintings, sculpture, photographs, works on paper, and more by artists such as Johnson, Jose Alvarez (D.O.P.A.), Joana Choumali, Awol Erizku, Christiane Feser, Todd Gray, Katharina Grosse, Joel Mesler, David Yarrow, and more.
In addition to the online auction, a live auction will be held at the Norton Museum of Art’s 2025 Gala on Saturday, February 1. Bidders unable to attend in person will be able to submit absentee and phone bids, if registered with auction@norton.org by January 30.
Please note the online auction has a 10% buyer’s premium, which will be added to the final hammer price of each sold work. The premium allows the Norton Museum of Art to retain more of the proceeds of the sale and offset administrative costs. (There is no Buyer’s Premium for the Feb. 1 Live Auction.) Auction proceeds benefit the Norton's curatorial, learning, and community engagement programs.
Live and online auction items will be on view at the Norton Museum of Art beginning January 17, 2025.
Online Auction: January 24, 11am ET – February 3, 4pm ET
Live Auction: February 1, 2024, approximately 8:45pm ET
