A s the first spirits auction in 2025, this highly anticipated sale is a truly historical one. With a grand total of 942 lots and 2000+ bottles, this is the largest Spirits auction ever held in Hong Kong, breaking Sotheby’s previous records by a large margin. This is also one of the most diverse auctions we’ve ever held, covering over 50 different top distilleries/producers across multiple categories of spirits, including Scotch, Japanese Whiskies, Bourbon, Moutai, Rum, Cognac and Armagnac…etc. Out of the 942 lots, 435 lots are being offered at NO RESERVE, which would be an exciting opportunity for buyers to discover hidden gems that they would not have considered before and embrace the incredibly wide spectrum of flavours the spirits world has to offer!
There is also an upsurging amount of new Japanese whiskies popping up in the secondary market, which we will also be featuring in this auction. In the past few years, new micro-distilleries have been built all around Japan with new producers trying out and experimenting with malt varieties, fermentation and ageing methods that are vastly different from traditional producers. This is a trend that we are happy to see and will continue to support by featuring these products in our auctions.

For the first time ever, we are also offering the full set of the Karuizawa 35 Year Old Splendid Age Geisha, this series feature some of the most incredible bottles from 1980s Karuizawa. Hanyu card collectors who have a missing piece are very likely looking for the 10 of Spades, the most highly priced bottle in the entire series, that was only sold in auctions for a handle of times over the past 2 decades.

Bowmore Cask #222 1968 is widely considered as one of the holy grails of old Islay malts. Its been featured twice in Whiskyfun, scoring 95pts and 97pts respectively. Together with the Ardbeg Provenance and Laphroaig 21 Year Old Intertrade, this is a great chance for Islay enthusiasts to finally get their hands on their dream dram. Speaking of smoky whiskies, Tales of Macallan Volume I and The Macallan Golden Age of Travel are both pre-war Macallans distilled before 1940s, which share the common characteristics of being slightly smoky, reflecting and style of whisky from an entirely different era.
