After our successful auction in March of the Ehlen family’s varied and academic collection of German, Iznik and Chinese ceramics, more facets of the collection can be explored in this sale. The family’s eye for quality and beauty spans across various genres of paintings and multiple categories of the decorative arts.

The sale will offer a selection of Old Master paintings from esteemed private and noble collections across Europe. Highlights include an intriguing portrait of a lady from the Studio of Michiel van Mierevelt and belonging to a German Countess, an attractive portrait by Nicolaes Maes which has been held in the same family collection for over 85 years, a rediscovered still life by Adriaen van Utrecht and his Studio, and a large coastal view by Abraham Willaerts.
