One of the most elusive and interesting Nike projects to ever be created, the Nike Black Laser Series - described by Nike as a one-of-one Art Series, was developed for British designer Alexander McQueen, in the run up to his iconic Black Event in 2004. Nike x Louis Vuitton ‘Air Force 1’ Full Collection, 2022
In 2022, 40 years since the Air Force 1 was introduced, a culmination of the rich history of the silhouette was realised with the introduction of the Louis Vuitton x Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh. Released posthumously, Abloh’s work seamlessly connected the decades of prominence of Nike’s famed sneaker.
The first instalment of the Nike x Louis Vuitton ‘Air Force 1’ by Virgil Abloh came to market through Sotheby’s, with a total of 200 pairs offered at auction in an exclusive colourway and an accompanying Pilot Case. A general release of nine additional pairs came in June of 2022. This collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Nike has resulted in some of the most authentic, high-end sneakers ever created. This is the first time all 9 pairs will be offered in an auction as a single lot.
Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Pigeon’ Dual Signed by Jeff Staple, 2005
Designed by Jeff Staple of Staple Design, the 2005 release of this sneaker was perhaps one of the most infamous Nike drops in history. On the 22nd February, a line formed outside of Reed Space, Jeff’s Lower East Side storefront. The crowd grew so large that the New York City Police were called to keep things in order and make sure that lucky purchasers were able to get home safely. The attention on the release made the cover of the New York Post, and to this day remains an extraordinary example of the power of streetwear hype. This pair comes dual signed by Jeff Staple.
Autograph Selection
Autographs have long served as a representation of the artists or designers who penned them, adding an additional layer of rarity to already exclusive sneakers. On offer in this auction are a number of sneakers signed by the figures instrumental in their creation. All signatures are accompanied by JSA certification.
Collaboration Selection
Sneaker collaborations have long spanned across industries and leading figures. While some see a wide release, others are kept as samples, given only to close friends and family of the brand or collaborator. Offered in this auction are a number of highly exclusive sample pairs, in collaboration with artists or brands.
