S otheby's is honored to partner with the famous decorator Jacques Grange to curate the Important Design sale. For the first time, a figure of Arts and decoration will link, according to his taste and his eye, the different pieces that have been entrusted to us. Jacques Grange’s keyword for this sale: Dialogue. Jacques Grange will compose the sale as one realizes a project of decoration: An Ambassador lounge by Jean Royère will be next to a pedestal table by Hector Guimard and a unique mirror by Claude Lalanne, wall lights by Pierre Chareau will frame a marble piece of furniture by Eric Schmitt, a bookcase Bookworm by Ron Arad will compose with a sphere lamp by Jacques Le Chevallier, while Marc Newson’s impressive Black Orgone Stretch Lounge will meet a rug by Emilio Terry. The Aragon coffee table by Jean-Michel Frank will respond to the Elysée lounge by Pierre Paulin. The same will be true for all the designers present in the sale, Marcel Coard, Charlotte Perriand, Armand-Albert Rateau, Alberto Giacometti, Jean Prouvé, Carlo Mollino, Ado Chale, François-Xavier Lalanne, Georges Jouve or Martin Szekely and Bruno Romeda who will be honored with 17 lots.
