The sale is led by Paghuhuli Ng Mga Manok (Catching Chickens) by Anita Magsaysay-Ho, a pioneering female artist from the Philippines currently featured in the main exhibition of the 2024 Venice Biennale titled ‘Stranieri Ovunque- Foreigners Everywhere’. The auction also includes celebrated Singaporean pioneers such as Cheong Soo Pieng and Georgette Chen alongside iconic modernists from the region such as Affandi, Le Pho, Fernando Zóbel, Theo Meier, Pratuang Emjaroen and Tran Van Ha. Other modern highlights include significant works by Chinese masters Wu Guanzhong and Chu Teh Chun. Sublime highlights include Hiroshi Sugimoto’s Sea of Okhotsk, Hokkaido (1989), a bronze sculpture from Ju Ming’s famous Tai Chi series, Lee Bae’s Issu du Feu 78-1 and Pang Jiun’s Frosty Red Maple Leaves of February (2020), where vivid, other-worldly reds float deliriously over redolent, verdant greens.

 , who is a co-founder and member of Jendela Art Group. Saputra was featured in the Venice Biennale 2019 and is the third Indonesian artist to participate at Venice Biennale. The title of Overcast Clouds Along With Left Wing &amp; Right Wing alludes to a specific place “Megamendung” in West Java, Indonesia, but it can also be understood as an exploration into the pattern of batik, cloud and the location itself. Here, Saptura destabilases any categories. Saputra’s mastery of positioning his objects in a variety of spatial arrangements defies the boundaries of regular compositions, and seamlessly bridges the gap between a recognizable object and an alien amorphous form. Another highlight includes Theo Meier's Nyoman Lumbang with Offering. &nbsp;The painting is a masterwork by the Swiss artist that celebrates the beauty of Balinese women and unique landscape. The artist captures the magnificent beauty of his muse, Nyoman Lumbang, carrying out her offering duties, set against the mountainous landscape of Iseh Village at dawn.
