20 vintage silver prints (each approximately 190 x 240mm., or the reverse), 18 by Ponting and 2 by Bowers, unmounted, each with a Paul Popper Photographic Agency label on the reverse
A FINE COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE GOLDEN AGE OF ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION. All the photographs were taken on Captain Scott's 1910-13 "Terra Nova" expedition to the South Pole. Eighteen of the photographs were taken by the official expedition photographer Herbert Ponting, and two by Lieut. Henry R. Bowers en route to and at the South Pole.
