Joseph Warren. In the House of Representatives, September 17th, 1776. Resolved, That it be recommended to the Male Inhabitants of each Town in this State, being Free and Twenty-one Years of Age, that they assemble as soon as they can in Town-Meeting ... and that in such Meeting … if they consent in one Body with the House ... should consult, agree on, and enact such a Constitution and Form of Government for this State … [Watertown: Benjamin Edes, ca. 17 September 1776]
