A collection of 69 signed photographs and signatures, headed "Statesmen & Authors", including:

Rabindranath Tagore (signed photograph, dated 22 October 1929), Sigmund Freud (signature dated 1931), Stefan Zweig, Somerset Maugham, John Galsworthy, Albert Schweitzer (inscribed to Dr Max G. Bethelheim), the children's author Franz Karl Ginzkay; political figures including Herbert Hoover, Eleanor Roosevelt, Heinrich Brüning (signed photo), Anton Wildgans (signed photo), and Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi (signed photo); the pilot Hugo Eckener (signed photo), the Nobel Prize-winning physician Julius Wagner-Jauregg (signed photo), the author Andre Maurois (signed quotation), the author Carl Sandberg (signature), the Austrian ski champion Hannes Schneider (signed photo), the writer Gerhart Hauptmann (signature), chess champion JR Capalblanca (signature), the painter Hugo Davnaut (inscription dated 1936), the sculptor Nicolaus Koni (inscription dated 1936), and others; each item loosely inserted into the album with a typescript list of contents taped to the inner cover, in paper wrappers with hand-painted floral design 

This album of prominent figures of the inter-war period was assembled by the Viennese lawyer Max Bettelheim (1912-1971).
