First edition, third printing, one of the approximately 500 copies for ABA members with tipped-in "Author's Apology" leaf, signed "Sincerely | F. Scott Fitzgerald."
Fitzgerald first explores the Jazz Age generation in this sensational debut novel which defined him as torchbearer of the American youth.
3,000 copies were issued on 26 March 1920. It was an immediate runaway success. By August, the novel had seen seven printings, two of which (the fourth and seventh) saw revisions in the plates.
