清十八 / 十九世紀 髹漆加彩刻嬰戲圖八扇屏風


well-carved to each side and colorfully painted with a continuous scene; one side depicting a mytho-historical gathering, perhaps from the 'Investiture of the Gods' (Fengshen yangyi), of warriors, gods and demons in a courtly setting; the reverse with a playful, animated portrayal of the 'Hundred Boys,' enclosed by panels of flowers, landscapes, and precious objects, enclosed within diaper and scrolling borders, all against a dark brown lacquer ground
