A Sevres bleu lapis pierced square tray (plateau carré à jour), 1766
painted with two wading birds in marshland, the blue ground border gilt with a patterned band against a ground gilt with clusters of dots, the border moulded and pierced with Vitruvian scrolls, blue interlaced L's marks enclosing date letter N, painter's mark for Etienne Evans
length 4⅜in.; 11 cm.
