INK CUSTOM #0 was the concept artwork for the INKonBTC 10k Collection, the first 10k ordinal collection inscribed on legacy satoshis. Known for artistic diversity and high quality artwork inscribed on-chain, it is widely recognized and celebrated in the NFT community and has seen over 38m in secondary sales volume across various platforms since the release on March 28, 2024.
Legacy Satoshis are the first version of Ordinals. In 2022 a workshop was hosted by Casey Rodarmor that was attended by 41 people. A single BTC txn was executed that would create paper wallets containing 10,000 sats for every attendee. Thus, only 410,000 legacy satoshis will ever exist. However, many of these paper wallets were believed to have been discarded, and only 160,000 satoshis have ever been moved from the original paper wallets.
Referred to as the first version of ordinals, these satoshis were forgotten by many as ordinal theory as we know it would be released approximately 6 months later. The INK team was the first to acquire a paper wallet and split the 10,000 sats individually so that they could be used to create a 10k ordinals collection.
Bonus:
The demon, an unreleased and singularly unique INK artwork will be gifted to the successful bidder, inscribed on a Legacy Satoshi.
