A group of five mixed t-shirts and vests, comprising:

a white cotton t-shirt, the front decorated with the Superman logo in red glitter, labelled ‘Diamond Dust’ (possibly 1970s); a plain red cotton ribbed vest labelled ‘Sneakers’; a plain white cotton ribbed vest labelled ‘Jockey’; a long-sleeved plain blue v-neck top, unlabelled; and a plain white cotton t-shirt labelled ‘St. Michael’

Superman seems to have been a favourite theme of Freddie’s as there is a photograph of him wearing a similar Superman logo vest or t-shirt to that included in this lot, seen in a photo session with Queen by Johnny Dewe Matthews, Primrose Hill, London, 4 September, 1974 (see ‘Queen, The Complete Illustrated Lyrics’ Backbeat Books, 2012, p. 55); see also lot 2141, Crazy Little Things II, for a black and red glitter version of this t-shirt, and lot 200, On Stage, for Freddie’s stage-worn Superman vest.
