Live Aid took place on 13 July 1985 and was an unprecedented fundraising concert held in two locations to raise money for charities in Africa. Queen's 21 minute performance, a little after 7pm, has since become one of the most famous live performances of all time. Mercury, in a white vest, a studded leather arm band, blue jeans and his white adidas trainers, was watched, in awe, by 1.9 billion people.
