In 2019 Jasper Hillegers suggested that the model for this painting is the same that appears in works by Jacob Backer (1608–1651), Simon Kick (1603–1652), Adriaen van Ostade (1610–1685), and Hendrick Pot (1580–1657) (see Literature).
