The Patek Philippe Reference 591 is one of the lesser known chronograph models from the brand, produced between 1938 and 1947. This is largely due to the watch's small production numbers, with only around 100 pieces manufactured over its 9-year lifespan. Of these, it is believed that 40 were made in yellow gold and 60 in pink gold.
One of the distinctive features of the Ref. 591 is the shape of the lugs, which are similar in form to the pusher design. This unique lug shape has led collectors to nickname the watch the 'Fagiolino', Italian for 'small green bean'.
The cases for the Ref. 591 were supplied by Wenger, a renowned case maker in Geneva. Wenger is also known for producing the cases for other notable Patek Philippe references like the 1579, 2497, and 2944.
It is interesting to note that while the Extract from the Archives confirms the pink dial, it also states pulsation scales.
