Introduced in 2012 at Baselworld, the 5213 minute repeating perpetual calendar with retrograde date wristwatch is powered by caliber R 27 PS QR composed by 515 parts. Fitting in a timeless Officer's-style case with applied Breguet numerals and hands, the brand added a contemporary touch to the classic combination with a slightly larger case diameter of 40.6 mm.
Patek Philippe has always been able to propose different stylistic approaches for the same complications. The 5213 is generally considered as an evolved version of the reference 5013, changing from a tonneau-form case to a round one. However, since it's designed in an Officer styled case, it can also be seen as a variation of the reference 5016 without the tourbillion function. Moreover, it offers the same combination of complications as the reference 5074 but displays the perpetual calendar differently by indicating date with retrograde hand. It shows the unrivaled creativity of Patek Philippe as one of the greatest watch manufacturers.
