The reference 2526 is the first self-winding wristwatch made by Patek Philippe. The firm was so proud of their new automatic winding wristwatch, they finished the movement to a very high standard and yet it cannot be seen due to the solid screw down case back. The dial was made from enamel to give it longevity due to its resistance in tarnishing.
The present lot is one of only 23 examples in platinum that had been seen on the market. The watch is further distinguished with its PP crown and extremely well preserved case with strong hallmarks and case back inscriptions that are easily legible with the naked eye.
