Description
Maximilien Robespierre

warning of the possibility of a counter-revolution and cautioning that the traitors are still at large, one page, folio, Paris, 'le 7e nivose de l'an 2', [27 December 1793], spotting
"LA TRAHISON, LE FEDERALISME ET LA CONTREVOLUTION"
This letter follows Robespierre's speech on the 25 December that defined the Revolutionary values, insisting upon the importance of terror as a means to ensure control, and asserting that only death was deserved by the enemies of the regime. As well as Robespierre, the document is signed by other members of the Comité de Salut Public, Lazare Carnot, Jacques Nicolas Billaud-Varenne and Bertrand Barère.
