First introduced by Louis Cartier in 1910, the Cartier Tortue is distinguished from other models by the form of its case. Inspired by the shape of a turtle (tortue being French for turtle), it was considered somewhat avant-garde in its design, released during a period when the norm favoured a circular case. The present lot is an iteration in platinum and perfectly sized for a lady's wrist.
