Introduced in 2006, the reference 5396 represents an annual calendar iteration of the elegant reference 5296. Drawing heavy influence from Patek Philippe's illustrious past, its case design pays homage to the mid-20th-century Calatrava models, characterized by graceful and unembellished lines. The dial, on the other hand, takes inspiration from another vintage model, the reference 3448. It mirrors the layout of windows and moon phases display, with a slight variation in the subsidiary dial. In the reference 3448, this dial is designated for date indication, while in this instance, it hosts a 24-hour display, while the date finds its place in a dedicated window at 6 o’clock.
