• fountain pen (no. 137/888) palladium finished with black and white lacquered panda design, cap engraved Cartier and 137/888, mother of pearl cabochon on top of cap and bottom of pen • fountain pen with an 18k gold nib engraved with Cartier logo, palladium plated clip • accompanied by presentation box, outer packaging, certificate, directions for use, acrylic pen holder, and additional Cartier cartridges.

The Panda decor Art Déco de Cartier pen was created depicting lacquered panda bears with Chinese overtones. The panda bear in Chinese culture is known for its calm demeanor, and is symbolic of peace, harmony and friendship. Also referred to as "The" Chinese Bear, the beloved creature is arguably one of the most aesthetically enjoyable animals.
Cartier created a limited series of 888 numbered pieces, with the present example numbered 137. The number 8 in Chinese culture is the symbol of eternity and infinity.
